Favorite bread recipe

Here is a recipe to our favorite bread recipe:

Portuguese Sweet Bread

1 cup of milk

1 egg beaten

2 tbsp margarine or butter

1/3 cup sugar

3/4 tsp salt

3 cups flour (I replace 1/3 of the flour with whole wheat flour)

2 1/2 tsp yeast

Put ingredients in bread maker according to your machine's instruction. I use the dough setting. Then shape it the way you like it and let it rest for about 45 minutes. Bake at 350-375 for 30 minutes. Et voila.

This last time, since I prefer smaller loaf, I doubled the recipe, cut the dough in half, baked one half and froze the other one.\

Enjoy!

  3. It's a sandwich bread. I eat it plain or with butter. My kids love it with butter and/or jam. We sometimes have it with ham and cheese. It does not make it to the second day at our house with the four of us!
